Little Copper Wires

I’m so annoyed that they’re ditching the analogue phone network for digital.

It’s harder to get the parts apparently and I imagine people who know how to fix the copper network.

When Lancaster’s power station broke and the mobile network went down, when we got a little taste of the apocalypse back in 2015, I could still phone out because I had a very basic landline.

The whole reason I’ve kept that very basic landline is so that I can always rely on the little copper wires, I’m not reliant on a battery or the mains. But in the future when all the power goes out we’re all going to be completely stuck because of these upgrades and the assumption that power is always going to be there.

I don’t think I’m being a Luddite here. It’s a genuine problem that wasn’t a thing when they switched the television networks over.
