1.What did you do in 2025 that you’d never done before?
Went to play an International LARP in another country. Together At Last was great fun in February.
2. Did you keep your new years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Yes and yes
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No but I keep thinking someone did.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
People who had been close to me died. Fele Umbra completed his speed run through life in the middle of the summer’s heatwave. In October someone who was a Facebook friend due to distance passed after helping Skimbleshanks move to Texas. I’m still catching her supportive comments all over my Facebook memories, and using her cornbread recipes.

The Netherlands
6. What would you like to have in 2026 that you lacked in 2025?
Stable income I can rely on.
7. What date from 2025 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Honestly nothing really
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Took part in a tribunal the outcome of which was that I do deserve to get paid for my job and it’s illegal to threaten to take me down to minimum wage.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Didn’t get fit enough to be a ninja warrior

Chronically not seriously

The new car!

The Jellicle and I went to her parents for Christmas to Boxing Day. We played a lot of Mexican train dominoes and her Mum helped me paint my nails an excellent sparkley shade.

No

24. What was your favorite TV programme?
Going old skool, I really enjoyed Stranger Things again.
25. What was your greatest musical discovery?
I don’t think Wet Leg are new to me per se but they’re the newest that I’m still discovering.
26. What was the best book you read?
I laughed like a drain over The Haunted Vagina, I read a lot of Alan Quartermain books.
27. Are you happy with your lot?
Happy in the sense of mostly fine sure, in the sense of joyful not so much. I still have this sense that until and unless I start recognising when my joy is causing other people to be sad I shouldn’t be allowed it.

A new car

A job that pays regularly and well
30. What was your favourite film of this year?
Sinners – hands down it was amazing, just such a well put together piece. Utterly loved it.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I was 43, I celebrated the Saturday before with The Pirate, Swedish Meta and BBF in a Pizza Express during The Smoke Chamber LARP festival. I had an excellent Honeycomb Cream Slice for dessert.
On the day itself I went to the Jack the Ripper Museum and took the Ripper walking tour associated with it. I had a lovely time.
Then when I got home Weasel had made sure Dancing Man had left one of his excellent cakes for me to come home to. It was delicious.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Being able to concentrate on my own things

Chunky knits and messy hair

Pom Klementieff probably pops January Jones to the post. But they are both very hot.

Palestinian freedom and trans exclusion

My Dad, my Grandma.

Wonderful Dutch people at Together at Last

I feel love most in a group situation. Which I kind of already knew I guess.
40. Was 2025 a good year?
Yes, I’m still picking up the pieces from the nervous breakdown but yeah it was good.
