I slept till noon and I feel thoroughly refreshed.
However I just came back from my Japanese lesson and so I feel utterly stupid. I spend my whole lesson being asked questions or given instructions and replying ‘Sorry I don’t understand’…she repeats with gestures and I then disect virtually the whole sentence asking what each individual word means until about ten minutes later I finally understand she wants me to fill in the blanks beneath a picture or whatever with the kanji I learnt last week…which of course I get upside down, back to front and sideways wrong.
I even had to ask the Manly Viking for help this week over a common instruction in the staffroom. I just get so fed up of my whole conversational Japanese consisting of ‘wakaranai’ and the staffroom telling me how much better at Japanese my predecessor was. It just won’t stay in my head.
