Oh Bollocks

So, I’ve had glandular fever already, it swiped half a term off me during my A-Levels. After you’ve had it you’re not supposed to get it back, like chicken pox. Except that I’m in the lucky 6% who apparently do! Yeay! Go me!

The problem with me having glandular fever is that it is spread by kissing. Yes. Yes. So anyone who has kissed me in the past couple of months, well, look out for swollen tonsils, flu-like symptons and feeling excessively tired.

To a particular group of people, who could be represented by a diagram after the manner of Cuddles, um, sorry but you’ve probably got it already if you’re going to get it.

  1. Looking on the bright side…

So, half a summer of sitting in deckchairs in the garden, sipping long, cool drinks?

    I reckon I can handle that… ;o)

  2. Like Dan, I was under the impression that once you get GF, it sits there and pops up occasionally for ever after, at inconvenient moments… However, the internet seems to disagree with my experience on that point.

I’ll dig out the echinacea. Hope you feel a bit better soon. We have copious quantities of fruit teas, honey and cushions for when you’re feeling up to walking about. 🙂

  3. Really? You’re only supposed to get it once? Never heard that about it before. Laura seems to get it in mild form about once a damn year.

  4. Well according to the doctor it either doesn’t ever come back or it goes for the ‘I’m pretending to be Malaria’ vibe.
