Ego Trip

Obviously, one day I shall be famous, and they’ll make a film of my life. The opening credits will be taken from a couple of years ago, a woman (me), driving fast down a series of motorways singing loudly along to the Goo Goo Dolls. Looking out of the window, and the windscreen as well as shots internal to the car will flash up other people who will be in the movie, from various points in her life, little scenes overlaid onto the motorway and car. With credits to the actors etc.etc. flashing up as well, it’ll be maybe with a little jerky quality to the film.

So…let’s meme this thing, when I get back from Peru I want to know the opening credits sequence and music to the movie of your life. You can put it in the comments here if you like.

And I’d give up forever to touch you
Cause I know that you feel me somehow
You’re the closest to heaven that I’ll ever be
And I don’t want to go home right now

And all I can taste is this moment
And all I can breathe is your life
Cause sooner or later it’s over
I just don’t want to miss you tonight

And I don’t want the world to see me
Cause I don’t think that they’d understand
When everything’s made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

And you can’t fight the tears that ain’t coming
Or the moment of truth in your lies
When everything seems like the movies
Yeah you bleed just to know your alive

And I don’t want the world to see me
Cause I don’t think that they’d understand
When everything’s made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am
Chorus

I don’t want the world to see me
Cause I don’t think that they’d understand
When everything’s made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am

  1. Erm… It’s going to be shot in black and white and start with me at about 15/16 looking as gawky as I did back then in my bedroom, looking despondant and picking up a drawing pin, before trailing it across my arm in despair. In the backgroud there will be playing Wake Up by Coheed and Cambria (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojasq626CgQ). It fades to black and a voice over (in Edward Norton’s voice, because that’s how I imagine voice overs) that says "I never meant for it to happen. And it seems cliche to even think about it, let alone say it, but somehow, someway the story has grown way beyond the memory it ever was. They say that what doesn’t kill you onlt makes you stronger; but it’s what does kill you, on the inside, that makes you fight that little bit harder."

And there you have it, the twisted intro to what would be the film of my life.

    xx
