To All The Queers Who’ve Gone Before

I have two girlfriends.

My main employer knows I’m poly. Everyone I work with knows I like girls. I do not have to marry a man and bear his children to be able to live within society.

My nephews know they have two Aunts.

My parents know my girlfriend transitioned.

I have not been shunned.

You did this, gradually, incrementally you got us here. Thankyou.

There is still work to do. That line in Priscilla, “it never ends does it?” there’s all the bloody space in the world to keep on and on and on. So many people are still excluded and the opportunities I have are pipe dreams across many parts of the world.

But we are getting there, Thankyou. We’ll keep on, we got this.
